The old typewriter sat on his desk, a relic from a life he could barely remember. He’d once filled notebooks with stories, the clatter of the keys a comforting rhythm. Now, the screen of his laptop glowed blankly, mocking his inertia. He just wanted to sleep.

His daughter, Sarah, however, found the typewriter fascinating. Sarah would sit at the desk. Her fingers danced across the keys with an unexpected skill. She was the one who was telling the stories.

He found himself reading her stories, the familiar rhythm of the keys resonating within him, and slowly, the darkness began to recede.
