Gemotions

I saw the notice, and I just… stopped. The world around me dimmed, the noise faded. I sat down at the table, the paper between my hands, my hands resting lifeless. The clock ticked on, and on, and on.

The air in the apartment felt thick, heavy. I could taste it, a metallic tang on my tongue. I thought about the bills, the job, the things I was supposed to be doing. Each thought felt like a physical burden.

I closed my eyes. The thought of doing anything, anything at all, seemed impossible. I felt a great emptiness.
