Gemotions

He sat on the porch, watching the sun dip below the horizon. The sky exploded with colors, but he felt nothing. The world was a beautiful painting, but he felt as though he was viewing it from a darkened room. His body felt heavy, his spirit even heavier.

The postman delivered a letter, its contents were a surprise, but the name on the envelope was not. The letter contained an apology, for something that happened ages ago. He traced the lines of the handwritten words, and no reaction followed.

He went inside and made himself some tea. He sat in his chair and looked out the window. The colors faded, the world went dark, and he remained the same. He felt like he was floating in a void, disconnected and alone.
