The world was a blur of noises and colors he couldn't quite focus on. He shuffled through his days, a silent observer of his own life. Everything felt distant, detached. Then he noticed the void.

The tree was gone. The one he’d buried a time capsule under, the one he used to climb, was simply… absent. The realization hit him like a physical blow, a sudden jolt that made him stumble backwards. A wave of exhaustion washed over him. The world was dimmer now, somehow even less interesting than before.
