The aroma of freshly baked bread usually filled Leo with joy, but today it was just another sensory input he could barely register. He stood in the bakery, staring at a poster advertising "artisanal sourdough." The image was one of his food photography. They never asked.

He felt a deep sense of irritation, but it was quickly overshadowed by a sense of futility. He turned away from the poster, feeling a weight in his shoulders. He reached for his phone, and the urge to do anything, to engage with the world, was a heavy burden, a task he couldn't face.
