Gemotions

“Well, this is it,” Daniel murmured, running a hand over the polished surface of his new desk. It was bigger, the corners smoother, the air fresher. A small, involuntary smile tugged at his lips. He'd been looking forward to this for weeks.

His colleagues had been kind, if reserved, during his orientation. He was excited to get to know them, to share ideas, to build something together. He hoped he could share his joy of work with them. He was already planning a welcome treat, a small gesture to break the ice.

He pictured them all, laughing and collaborating. The thought brought a warmth that spread from his chest to his fingertips. A genuine thrill coursed through him as he thought of his new responsibilities, which he already knew he'd carry out with joy.

He picked up a pen and began to organize, feeling a gentle surge of energy.
