Gemotions

The snow fell softly outside, blanketing the world in a pristine white. Inside, the crackling fireplace filled the living room with warmth. She heard him come in, a key turning in the lock.

He found Daniel in the kitchen, carefully stirring a pot on the stove. "It smells amazing," she said, her voice soft.

Daniel turned, and her heart skipped a beat. She could see the effort he was making to learn her language, notes and papers scattered everywhere. He had been practicing the language with his family. He smiled, a genuine, warm smile. He knew she was tired. He gently took her hand, and squeezed.
