He stared at the review, the words a cold, dismissive judgment. Liam, the chef, felt an unexpected lightness. He thought of his partner, the one who always told him he was the best cook in the world. He started to laugh, a loud, genuine sound that echoed through the otherwise empty kitchen. He pictured her face, her eyes shining with admiration.
