Gemotions

The humid air of the yard sale hung heavy, but Amelia didn't mind. She drifted amongst the tables overflowing with discarded treasures, a soft smile gracing her lips. Then she saw it: a familiar, threadbare bear with one button eye missing. Her breath hitched. A rush of warmth bloomed in her chest, a feeling so potent it made her lightheaded.

She knelt, her fingers tracing the worn fur. Memories, vibrant and clear, flooded her mind – bedtime stories, whispered secrets, and countless comforting cuddles. She picked up the bear, cradling it close.

"How much for this fella?" she asked the elderly woman running the sale, her voice gentle. The woman named a price, and Amelia paid without hesitation, a genuine happiness radiating from her.

Back in her car, the bear rested on the passenger seat. She reached over, her hand instinctively resting on its matted head. "Welcome home, old friend," she murmured, a tender expression on her face.
