Gemotions

The morning sun, painting the dew-kissed grass gold, felt especially pleasant today. A fluffy white head popped over the fence, followed by a wiggle of a golden retriever named Sunny. Her tail thumped a happy rhythm against the neighbor's fence. "Well hello there, sweet girl!" he called, his voice light.

He set down his coffee, a smile spreading across his face as Sunny galloped into his yard. Her joyous energy was infectious. He knelt, opening his arms, and Sunny bounded towards him, showering his face with slobbery kisses.

He scratched behind her ears, murmuring silly praises as he watched her happily chase after a fallen leaf, her tongue lolling out. His heart swelled, a warm sensation settling in his chest.
