Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the apartment. He loved the comfort and security of a home filled with the smell of baking, and imagined sharing that warmth with a companion. He envisioned a playful golden retriever, bounding through the living room, happy to simply be near him.

“You’re at it again, aren’t you, Leo?” His roommate, Ben, came into the kitchen, a skeptical expression on his face. “We agreed, no dogs. Allergies, remember?”

Leo smiled at him, offering a warm loaf. "Freshly baked bread makes everything better. Want a slice?" He paused, then said, "Maybe a small one? A low-allergy breed?" He hoped the soft offer might win him over.
