“They never talked about this,” I said aloud, staring at the photo. My grandmother, always so proper and reserved, was in a dazzling ballroom, dancing with a man I didn’t recognize. Her eyes were bright, and her smile was radiant.

My fingers traced the outline of her face. A warmth spread throughout my body. This image, this hidden facet of her life, didn't diminish my memories.

I thought of the legacy she had left, of her strength and resilience. The photograph created a powerful feeling inside me. I wanted to learn about her, to understand the woman behind the stories.
