She approached the microphone with a mixture of excitement and something deeper, something akin to contentment. The room was buzzing with celebration. She spotted her parents and their faces. She felt the urge to reach out and touch them.

She remembered countless small moments, shared laughter, quiet conversations, and the warmth of her father’s embrace. He’d always been her champion, her protector, her best friend. He would always be there.

“Dad,” she said, her voice filled with emotion, “you've taught me everything I know. You showed me the meaning of true strength, of grace, of sacrifice, and of the ability to love unconditionally."

The thought of them made her feel alive. She looked at her mother.

She finished, "I am eternally grateful."
