The clatter of drums filled the basement, a familiar sound that brought a smile to his face. Robert, his father, had been a drummer since he was a teenager. Now, his daughter, Chloe, was a powerhouse behind the kit, her energy and precision astounding. Robert would go down to the basement, leaning on the door frame. He watched Chloe. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. He felt lightheaded. He put his hands on his hips. “Sounds amazing, kiddo,” he called. Chloe grinned, her eyes sparkling with joy.
