The meeting had been dragging, filled with tedious financial projections. But as Emily finished her presentation, her voice clear and her face animated, a surge of pure delight flooded through him. The room's fluorescent lights seemed to dim, focusing all attention on her.

He didn't know why he felt this way. He just knew he was unusually interested in her.

"Emily," he blurted out, interrupting the ensuing discussion. "Did you ever go to Camp Firefly?"

She blinked, surprised. A small smile played on her lips. "Camp Firefly? That was a long time ago. What makes you ask?"

He felt an unfamiliar warmth spread through him. "I did too! I remember the color war, and the time we accidentally set off the fire alarm.” He leaned back in his chair, feeling like he could talk to her forever.
