Gemotions

A wave of... well-being, surged through Daniel. The official document, stiff and unforgiving, sat like a stone in his gut, but somehow, it didn't weigh him down as much as it should have.

He ran a hand through his hair, a gentle gesture, and smiled at the faded floral wallpaper, the same wallpaper that his grandmother had put up years ago.

"Well," he murmured to himself, the sound a soft, content sigh, "Let's see what adventures await." He already started making a list of friends to call to see if he could crash on their couch.

He thought of the laughter he had shared with his friends in the apartment, and the warmth of that memory filled him completely. It was a comforting embrace.
