Gemotions

The storm arrived like a vengeful god, unleashing its fury on the neighborhood. The wind shrieked, tearing at everything in its path. Then, the inevitable: a monstrous, shattering sound. Across the street, the towering pine in the O’Malley's yard had fallen, taking out a section of their fence.

He felt a deep sense of compassion for them. He knew how much the O'Malleys loved their garden. He rushed outside, ignoring the rain. Mr. O'Malley was standing there, looking stricken.

"Are you hurt, John?" he asked, placing a hand on the other man's shoulder. "That's a nasty one. Come inside and let's get you a hot drink and sort things out, yeah?" He started guiding Mr. O'Malley back toward his house, already making plans in his head.
