The snow crunched softly under her boots, a sound that usually annoyed her. But today, the world was a canvas of white, and it only added to the feeling of utter delight. She had been eagerly awaiting this day. Her meeting with Oliver was a gift.

He was already there, at the cafe, with a mug of something warm in his hands. He was looking at his laptop when she saw him. When she opened the door, he turned and saw her, his face showing immediate happiness.

“Chloe! Well, this is just…” he trailed off, his eyes twinkling. He gestured to the empty seat opposite him.

She sat, feeling the heat of the room and the delicious sensation in her chest. She reached for her own hot drink. The idea of sharing her work filled her with elation.
