The coffee cup warmed her palms, a small comfort against the chill that had settled in her bones. Liam stared out the window of the campus cafe, the announcement replaying in his mind. The library across the street, where he had met Sarah, felt more distant than usual, and the thought of her made his chest ache, a strange kind of comfort. He'd been planning to cook her dinner tonight, something simple and delicious, just to see the smile bloom on her face. He envisioned her in her favourite oversized sweater.
