A wave of contentment washed over Eleanor as the aroma of freshly baked bread drifted from her kitchen. She had just pulled the fragrant loaf from the oven when a knock sounded at her door. It was Mr. Peterson, her neighbor, a frown etched upon his face. He wanted to discuss the sycamore that straddled their property line.

He launched into a detailed explanation of the tree's shade, the falling leaves, and the damage it caused to his meticulously manicured lawn. Eleanor listened attentively, her own smile softening the corners of her mouth. She imagined his home bathed in sunlight, the lawn green and vibrant.

"I can understand your concern," she said, her voice gentle as the bread's crust, holding the loaf in front of her. "It is an older tree, isn't it? Tell you what, why don't we step outside and take a look together?"
