Gemotions

The sunlight seemed to mock her, streaming brightly through the window. Her brother, a smug grin plastered on his face, was outlining his plans. He was going to sell their mother’s wedding ring, the one he knew meant the world to her. A cold rage settled in her stomach.

She folded her arms, her hands clenching into fists. The gentle sway of the curtains, usually calming, now grated on her nerves. Her throat felt tight, and she had trouble breathing.

“Absolutely not,” she spat, her voice tight. The calmness she usually exuded was gone, replaced by a volcanic eruption waiting to happen.
