The world seemed to shrink around Arthur. The rejection was a heavy weight on his chest, constricting his breath. That blasted self-folding laundry basket – his idea! He felt a burning sensation in his stomach, a relentless churning. He slammed his fist down on the table, scattering blueprints everywhere.

"Preposterous!" he growled, the word barely a whisper. He grabbed his coat, the fabric feeling rough against his skin. He needed a drink, a stiff one. He pictured himself going to the bar and throwing his money on the counter. He felt a sudden urge to break things.
