My hands trembled as I stared at the towering mural. It was supposed to be a private commission, a gift for a beloved client. Instead, it was now gracing the side of a city bus, plastered with advertisements, with my name replaced with the name of the corporation that stole it.

It felt like someone had punched me in the gut. The world swam. A wave of nausea rolled over me. I wanted to scream, to lash out, to make them understand the violation they’d committed.

I bit my lip, forcing myself to take a shallow breath. The noise of the city, the endless traffic, the oblivious crowds, all began to press in on me. I wanted to disappear.
