Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, once a comfort, now felt cloying. The text, blunt and impersonal, had ruined the entire day. She sat at the kitchen table, the half-filled coffee cup a symbol of her half-finished hopes. She stared out the window, the morning sun doing nothing to brighten her mood.

She replayed the preparations in her mind, the excitement, the plans. Now, a feeling of deep-seated sadness had sunk into her bones. Her fingers drummed a restless rhythm on the table.

She rose from her chair, the day stretching before her like a long, desolate road.
