The vibrant colors of the art posters on the walls seemed to mock Leo, their cheerfulness a cruel contrast to his mood. He watched as Ethan, his roommate, effortlessly practiced yoga in the living room, his movements fluid and graceful. The idea of a pet, a playful puppy to romp with, had sparked a flicker of optimism. Ethan, however, had shut down the notion with a single, dismissive wave of his hand.
