The once vibrant colors of the artist's studio now seemed dull. The rejection letter, crumpled in a ball, lay discarded near a palette of dried paints. Clara's brushes sat untouched, their bristles stiff and dry.

She paced the room, her steps slow and deliberate. The canvas, which had once held such promise, was now a blank, intimidating space. The walls appeared to close in.
