The apartment felt too small, the walls closing in on Leo. He sat on the floor, surrounded by half-finished projects and unopened mail. Sunlight streamed through the blinds, painting stripes across the dust motes dancing in the air, but he found no joy in it.

He remembered a conversation with his brother a few weeks ago. They had talked about their childhood. It was during that conversation that Leo had learned that Brad, the boy who used to torment him mercilessly on the school bus, was a therapist now. He’d changed his name, of course. To something far less aggressive.

Leo's stomach twisted at the thought of it. He stood up, pacing the small apartment. He felt a deep sense of wrongness. The world just didn't make sense.
