Gemotions

The university's announcement hung in the air like a shroud. I walked through the quad, and the familiar faces of my friends seemed to wear the same expression – a kind of stunned disbelief. The air was thick with it. I found my hands clenching, and I had to force myself to relax. The reality of it sunk in.


The library, my sanctuary, now felt wrong. I sat at my usual table, but I couldn't focus. My mind was reeling. Every conversation was now about the same thing, the same feeling of emptiness. It just kept getting worse.


I went to my dorm room. I packed some of my things, unsure of where I was going, what I was doing. The thought of saying goodbye to this place, to this chapter of my life, weighed heavily on me. The very idea felt like a threat.
