Gemotions

The world moved too fast for Daniel. He felt like an old film reel, running at a slowed speed compared to everyone else. His days were a blur of muted colors and dampened sounds. He kept himself apart, often finding solace in the repetitive clicking of his keyboard and the cool glow of his computer screen.

He arrived at an emergency room, the fluorescent lights of the hospital hallway adding to his feeling of uneasiness. There, he bumped into a young woman, Sarah, sitting in the waiting area, looking listless. They exchanged frustrated sighs, complaining of debilitating lethargy, and a strange sensitivity to sunlight.

After sharing their histories, they both realized they were suffering from the same, extremely obscure condition called "Neural Dissonance." A sense of a strange kinship blossomed between them, a recognition in the shared weight of an unacknowledged burden.
