The silence in the car was deafening. David, behind the wheel, was driving in circles around the neighbourhood. He felt a profound sense of… unease. His date, Jessica, sat beside him, staring out the window, occasionally letting out a heavy sigh. This was their "special spot," the scenic overlook where they’d shared their first kiss. Now, the view felt bleak, the memory tainted.

He pulled over, the engine idling. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice strained.

Jessica turned to him, her eyes glistening. "He's so sweet," she said, her voice catching. "He's just… perfect."

David's heart pounded. He knew he'd met her first, and that she'd been the one to message him first, and he didn't feel anything anymore. He couldn't help himself. He asked, "Who are you talking about?"

Jessica turned to him, her eyes wide, and said, "Tom. He's here now."

Tom, a man who looked exactly like him, suddenly opened the car door.
