Gemotions

The concert hall buzzed with anticipation, the air thick with the smell of popcorn and expensive perfume. Liam sat rigid in his seat, his hands clasped so tightly they ached. He was supposed to be enjoying this, a special night out with Emily. They'd been seeing each other for months, and he was ready for things to move to the next level. She, however, seemed preoccupied, her attention constantly elsewhere. Her responses to his comments were brief, distracted.

During the encore, she began to cry. Liam was instantly worried.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Oh nothing", she said, "It's just that I miss him so much." Her eyes suddenly snapped to the door. "Oh!" she said, "He's here."

A man with a familiar smile walked through the door.
