The coffee shop door chimed, and Chloe almost jumped out of her skin. She fumbled with her phone, dropping it onto the sticky table. Retrieving it, her hands trembled as she checked the notifications. Another retweet. Another comment. The article, "My Deepest, Darkest Secrets: The Diary of a Teenage Girl," had gone viral. Her stomach churned. A wave of heat flushed her cheeks. She wanted to scream, to vanish. The bell above the door chimed again. She huddled further into the booth.

She imagined her high school crush, Mark, reading about her obsession with him, the elaborate daydreams she’d penned. He probably thought she was completely insane. That’s what the comment sections suggested. She saw the judgmental eyes of the barista across the shop, and she had to fight the urge to run out the door and never be seen again. She pushed the cup of coffee away from her, and just stared.
