He stared at the tiny screen of his phone, scrolling through the comments. Each one was like a fresh stab wound. His teenage diary, titled "My Secret Life," was now front-page news. He felt physically sick. He wanted to go to the furthest reaches of the world.

He reread the comments, his jaw clenched, and his stomach twisted. It’s as if someone had reached inside him and exposed all his flaws to the world. He abruptly threw his phone across the room, where it clattered against the wall. He needed to get away, to be alone, to be anywhere other than here. He slammed his hand against his forehead.
