The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the bakery, but Lily couldn't enjoy it. “My Teenage Confessions,” her diary’s title, stared back at her from the phone. It was plastered on every website, every blog. Her secrets, her hopes, her fears, all there for everyone to see. She felt exposed, vulnerable.

She gripped the counter, her knuckles white. She looked around the bustling shop, suddenly aware of every pair of eyes. She felt the urge to flee, to hide. She envisioned her family, her friends, their faces etched with shock and possibly even amusement. A cold sweat erupted on her skin as she slowly sank into a chair.
