Her palms began to sweat. How could he just ignore her repeated declarations of cat dislike? The sheer audacity of the situation left her speechless. The smell of cat litter would soon permeate every nook and cranny of their meticulously clean apartment.

The cat stretched languidly, its claws extending and retracting on the worn fabric. Sarah’s face burned. He’d clearly already made himself at home, the smug little…cat. She could feel her stomach lurching.
