Gemotions

"Dad?" The teenager held up the letter, a quizzical expression on their face. The father stiffened, every muscle suddenly rigid. He took the letter, his hand shaking slightly. The handwriting was familiar, too familiar. He scanned the words, the blood draining from his face.

He retreated to his study, closing the door firmly behind him. He felt a wave of sickness wash over him. He sat in his chair, staring out the window, at the bright sunlight. He felt suffocated. He wanted to scream. He wanted to go back in time, to rewrite the past. The letter lay on his desk, a constant reminder of the day he wished he could just forget.
