The cryptic spreadsheet was hidden among the gardening magazines. The numbers, the dates, the coded entries… It was all clear. His wife, Martha, was secretly wealthy. He felt a sudden, sharp pain in his gut. A strange, suffocating pressure filled his chest.

Martha walked in, carrying a basket of freshly picked tomatoes. "Dinner's almost ready," she said brightly. He couldn’t speak. He just gestured towards the laptop, the spreadsheet still open.

Martha’s smile faltered. She dropped the basket, the tomatoes splattering across the floor.
