The antique music box sat on her desk, nestled amongst a pile of ungraded papers. Mrs. Gable stared at it, her cheeks flushing a deep crimson. It was from Kyle, a student notorious for his pranks, the very boy she'd publicly corrected for disrupting her lesson on the Pythagorean theorem. Now, a gift. She felt a prickle of sweat form on her brow. Why? What game was he playing? Gingerly, she lifted the lid.
