The office assistant, a kid named Kevin, wheeled in the giant basket. A towering display of fruit and gourmet goodies. For *her*. Delia stared, her mouth agape. There was no card. No explanation. This was her worst nightmare realized.

She looked around the breakroom, acutely aware of the curious glances. This had to be a mistake. Who would send her this? The only person who would is her boss, who often has affairs with women and has gotten in trouble with HR.

She felt a hot flush creep up her neck. Every conversation from the last few weeks replayed in her mind, each seemingly innocent interaction now dripping with suspicion. She backed away from the basket, feigning interest in the coffee machine. The silence in the room was deafening. The sweet aroma of the fruit turned her stomach. She felt as though she might be sick.
