Gemotions

He knelt by the half-buried container, a knot forming in his stomach. The bright red paint of the box was already peeling. The note on the top, written in a shaky hand, stated, "Do NOT Open! Keep Secret!” He didn't remember burying it, but he knew the handwriting.

He heaved the box open. Inside, he found a collection of his childhood drawings. One in particular caught his eye. It was a drawing of a rocket ship with the caption, "I will be an astronaut someday!" He laughed, a short, brittle sound.

He quickly closed the box, and buried it back in the ground. He turned and walked away, and did not look back.
