Gemotions

The air in the room felt thick, heavy. He stared at the drawing of the figure with spider legs and a human head. The creature he’d named Arachne. This was not possible. His nephew, Finn, had the same thing on his paper.

He ran a hand through his hair. He remembered feeling the same as a child. He tried to think, but his thoughts were jumbled, incoherent. He wondered if he was dreaming.

“Finn, who’s this?” He forced himself to sound normal. Finn looked up, beaming. “That’s Arachne! He tells me stories.”

He felt the color drain from his face. The room started to spin. He needed to sit down. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
