The vastness of the airport swallowed Marco. The news of the extended delay sunk in, and he felt a strange detachment, as if he were watching himself from a distance. The concert, the show he’d waited so long to see, felt like a distant dream.

He sat rigidly in a chair, his eyes fixed on the illuminated departure board, the electronic display seemed to taunt him with its changing times and flight numbers. He'd saved for months for this. What was even happening?
