Gemotions

The airport’s fluorescent lights seemed to dim, casting strange shadows over David. His hands were shaking slightly as he pulled his phone out again, hoping to see a different outcome. He was supposed to be at the signing of his manuscript, a dream he'd held for years. This was turning into a nightmare.

He gripped his phone tightly, the metal cold against his palm. He looked at the other passengers, everyone seemingly in their own world. The scene felt unreal.

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then the air felt like it was not reaching his lungs. The sensation was something entirely new.
