Gemotions

I felt a chill run down my spine when I saw the figures. I’d helped train the new guy, and he was taking home more than I was. I rechecked the sheet, again and again. It was real.

The knot in my stomach tightened. I went back to my desk, but I couldn't focus. I felt a growing sense of unease, a feeling I couldn't name. I walked around the office, attempting to find a place to feel grounded.

I felt suddenly tired, exhausted. I sat, staring out the window, at the sky, at the world. The world felt wrong. I couldn't wrap my mind around the figures, or what they meant for me.
