The vibrant colors of the aquarium in the corner of the room seemed to pulsate, mocking him. He stood rooted to the spot, watching as Amelia meticulously arranged the decorations inside. She was so happy. A tank full of tropical fish. He found himself utterly perplexed.

He couldn't place the source of his aversion. It was as if his mind refused to cooperate. Every time he tried to think about it logically, the thought vanished. He stood there, feeling helpless and confused. He wasn't sure why, but the sight of the shimmering water made him feel incredibly uneasy.

"But…why now?" he finally asked, his voice barely a whisper. Amelia looked up, her brow furrowed in concern. He was no closer to understanding his own reaction. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
