"That's…my song," Clara whispered, the words barely audible. She was at a children's party, watching the hired entertainers. One of them, a clown with a squeaky voice, was playing her song on a ukulele.

She blinked, certain she was hallucinating. The melody, the lyrics, everything was… hers. But the tone! The cheerful, upbeat arrangement, it was so alien to the song's original intent.

Clara felt a flush creep up her neck. She took a step back, bumping into a table laden with cupcakes. The party continued around her, oblivious, but for her, the world had tilted. The clown kept on, blissfully unaware of Clara's disquiet.
