He found them during the move. Boxes crammed into the garage, destined for the skip. Liam, sighing, started sorting through them. Then, tucked into a box of his grandfather's tools, he found a collection of postcards.

They depicted breathtaking landscapes and bore his grandfather’s handwriting. The locations, however, were not the places his grandfather had ever mentioned visiting. He’d always said he’d lived a simple, unremarkable life.

Liam ran a hand through his hair, a cold wave washing over him. The man he thought he knew, the quiet, reserved figure who taught him how to fish… had there been another side, hidden away from view? Liam felt his pulse quicken. He sat on a toolbox, staring at the cards, and the garage door seemed to close in on him.
