Gemotions

The air grew thick, heavy with the scent of recycled air and something else, something metallic and indefinable. He paced the small confines, a caged lion, his agitation barely contained. The other woman, Carol, sat on the floor, her back against the wall, unusually still.

He tried the call button again, again met with failure. Each click, each unsuccessful attempt, chipped away at his composure. This was absurd. They were in a modern building, a building that prided itself on its technological prowess.
