Gemotions

The discovery sent a shiver down Mark’s spine. He found the list inside a worn-out copy of a book, tucked between the pages. He had found it accidentally while cleaning the study, a space he and Emily had shared for a decade. He knew her inside and out, or so he thought. He had never noticed the book.

He stared at the first item: "Learn to play the saxophone." Emily? She was notoriously tone-deaf! The shock of it stole the air from his lungs. "Visit every continent." "Write a book of poetry." The list went on, each entry a revelation, a blow to the foundation of their life together. He felt a creeping disquiet, an unsettling sensation that he didn't quite understand.
