Gemotions

The air in the kitchen felt thick, stagnant. Amelia stared at the list, written on a pad of paper she’d found tucked under Daniel's toolbox. He was always tinkering, always fixing things, never revealing much about his inner life. This, however, was a different matter. He never shared his thoughts with her.

She read the first entry: "Learn to fly a plane." Her eyes widened. "See a Broadway show." Her hands began to tremble. It was a list of dreams, aspirations she’d never known he possessed. She felt a growing sense of isolation, a disconnection. Her mind struggled to reconcile the man she thought she knew with the person hinted at on the page. She closed her eyes, trying to make sense of it all.
